About
Hi! I'm Heather, mother of 3 and birth worker dedicated to supporting families through vulnerable transitions and educating birth professionals to care for them. I was born and raised on the central coast and after a decade in Northern California I am honored to have returned to raise my family in this community that holds my heart.

A Birth Story
My journey as a birth worker began in 2009 when after 8 years as a massage therapist, I turned my focus to perinatal massage in a center for birth and family. I found that many families held fear, confusion and disconnect from their care teams and their own bodies as they navigated the prenatal, birth and postpartum journey. Through listening, holding and often physically feeling the fear and trauma carried in pregnant and postpartum bodies I was inspired to pursue a career as a doula and birth nurse. I have been fortunate to spend more than a decade at a birth facility known for honoring physiological birth, witnessing more than 1000 births. Today I find that traveling almost 5 hours to support families in that environment is worth it! Over the last 15 years I have trained as a lactation educator counselor, doula, childbirth educator and perinatal yoga instructor. Honoring that there is always more to learn I focus my continuing education each year on bodywork, labor support, physiological birth and preventing birth trauma. Since 2018 I have had the opportunity to train, mentor and coordinate a hospital volunteer doula program learning alongside hundreds of doulas dedicated to the support of birthing families. The birth of my medically complex third child forever changed how I care for families, opening my heart to the way support negates the fear that often leads to trauma in vulnerable moments. Today in addition to supporting birthing families, I am passionate about educating healthcare providers and birth professionals on the art of holding space and caring for families through birth, grief and loss.
